Nirvana Fans So Upset Over the New Guitar Hero, They Want to Blow Their Heads Off!

As you probably know, many of Nirvana’s fans are upset at the band’s new Guitar Hero game, especially because of the Avatar of the lead singer. It is indeed a little odd watching Cobain rock out to Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name.”

Ironically, it was Love who signed off on the avatar, even supplying Activision with pictures and video to emulate. Apparently, she didn’t realize that when Guitar Hero players unlock the avatar, that they can use it to play whatever song they want—even alongside cartoon characters.

Nevaeh Eden Loves Guitar Hero and Nirvana, but Hates Whiners...

A reader at Rolling Stone summed up the situation as follows: I wish fans would stop treating Cobain like Jesus. If he cared about what his Guitar Hero avatar looked like he probably shouldn’t have blown his head off.

I still can’t figure out why people don’t appreciate the avatar.

Go to the Movies with a Naughty Glamour Model

So I went and saw “Gamer” a week or so back and finally decided to do something worthwhile with my time after seeing it. As I have said before, I’ll try not to ruin it, but no promises! A short summary is below for those of you who don’t know what the movie is about:

Hall) to create the ultimate video game. It’s called “Slayers,” and it’s a mass-scale, multiplayer online first-person shooter that’s as controversial as it is popular. In the world of gamers, Simon (Logan Lerman) is a rock star; miraculously managing to keep his character alive week after week, he racks up frags like Billy Mitchell jumps barrels. But unlike Mitchell’s Mario, Simon’s video-game avatar is a living, breathing human being named Kable (Gerard Butler). Defying the odds to keep Kable running and gunning though even the most explosive battles, Simon captures the imagination of a global audience. I thought “Gamer” was actually a lot better than I expected. I didn’t really read too much into it before I saw it, so I really didn’t know completely what to expect. I knew it was a movie about people controlling other people in a game, and that’s what it was, and then some! The acting was definitely enjoyable and not too cheesy (always a plus), and I felt like the movie moved at a decent pace, although I expected a bit more action than it delivered.

The script seemed well written with some pretty good character development on most of the characters. The movie had a lot of sexual content (awesome!) and that definitely made it more fun. Who doesn’t love boobies? I felt a bit ripped off though, after watching “Death Race” last year in theatres. I felt like I was seeing the same movie, just with a slightly different twist. Overall though, I would have to say my favorite scene was one of the last fight sequences between Gerard Butler’s character (Kable) and Michael C. Hall’s character (Ken Castle); it was spectacular and very well choreographed. I would definitely go see this again, and I would give it a solid 8/10 stars. Oh! Alison Lohman is totally hot in this movie!! Yummy!
